Writing articles for directories is difficult for many people because they are concerned about several things. They are worried that the content they are writing is not perfect enough, they are worried that no one will read what they are writing and they are worried about their article being found. Your article will be found, in a sea of web content, only if you are using keywords in that article that people are searching for. The one thing about Google that will never change is the fact that it runs on keywords, meaning it tries to be intuitive and give you what it thinks you are looking for. Just like a machine or a robot, it will never be 100% accurate, but it can certainly give you a great selection to look through. For every web owner, being on top is key, but you are not going to get to the top without a whole lot of awesome keyword research, well written articles based on those keywords and constantly updated information on your web page.

Google seems to ignore web pages that are not updated on a regular basis, like clothing that goes out of fashion. Plenty of people struggle with articles because they worry that the articles they write are not “good enough”. The best thing to think about when you write an article is about the person who will be reading that article on the web. Does your article make sense? People use content spinners, which can give you unique content, but have you actually read the product that comes out at the end? Much of what is produced is garbage and makes no sense what so ever. As a webmaster, you should not be overly concerned with your message (if you have a good one), but more with what can be produced from a spinner or a program that does not think (as a person does) about what it is producing.

Basically, articles for directories need to be readable. If you read an article online that is poorly written and makes no sense, do you stick around to read the whole thing? No, most people will simply leave and keep looking for somehting else that is relevant. Forget about getting the “click through” no one is going to get that far if your article is crap. Yes, keywords are important, but if they are overused and not in the right context, you are wasting time, effort and money. Don’t be “that guy”, get readable articles for directories and make sure you stay with quality or you won’t get the traffic you are working so hard to get.

You are probably wondering why I haven’t posted any samples of my writing. The answer is simple, I provide unique content to people, and once I write for them, I delete the article after delivery. I have not posted samples of those articles here, and I will not, because they are the property of the people who have paid for them. I don’t want them to be copied, scraped or duplicated.

You can expect the exact same treatment from me when I write for you. You will not find your article anywhere on the web, and I will never resell it or duplicate it. The articles I write are deleted right after I send them to you, and I do not keep any copies. It’s only fair, since you are expecting quality content, and I want you to be the only one with access to the final product.

Most webmasters or affiliate marketers need plenty of articles to build sufficient backlinks to their sites. While Keywords are important, sometimes people think that stuffing keywords in just to get the keyword density up is a great idea. I am here to tell you it is not. Try going to any article site and reading an article that is keyword stuffed. Now read that article. Is it interesting? Is it informative? No, and no. So what does this get you? In all honesty, probably some people thinking that you are a dolt. That is why Google has changed things up again, and is now sending traffic to sites that actually provide value. Plain and simple, if your article sucks and does not provide any value, you are not going to get piles of visitors to your site. I have been writing articles for several years now, and I plan to continue, because I like to be a part of providing good content to the net, content that people can easily read, will stay to read which will have them interested enough to visit your site.

Many freelance sites are full of non english speaking people who write keyword stuffed articles. Sure, this was a great tactic in 2010, but it doesn’t work anymore. I am Canadian, English is my first language, and although I do admit sometimes my grammar is not stellar, I write articles that people actually enjoy reading. If you have any doubts, try an order for a short article of 400 words. If you absolutely hate it, I will refund your money, no questions asked. I’m pretty sure you will be happy with the product I will provide to you.

When you are creating a site, you need fresh and engaging content. Gone are the days when you could hire someone for a few dollars and get content that would pass muster with Google. If you are truly serious about getting a decent ranking, then you need content that actually says something.

Content needs to be purposeful. It needs to say something about your site, and most importantly, it can’t be 99% fluff with keywords stuffed in. What is your site about? People want to know the reason you have a site online, what you want them to do on your site. Search engines are no longer fooled by crap and neither are people.

A great way to decide on the direction of your site is to get a pencil and paper and make a short list. Branches from items will be posts under pages.
