When you are creating a site, you need fresh and engaging content.  Gone are the days when you could hire someone for a few dollars and get content that would pass muster with Google.  If you are truly serious about getting a decent ranking, then you need content that actually says something.

Content needs to be purposeful.  It needs to say something about your site, and most importantly, it can’t be 99% fluff with keywords stuffed in.  What is your site about?  People want to know the reason you have a site online, what you want them to do on your site.  Search engines are no longer fooled by crap and neither are people.
